Recognition: Peaches O’Dell has won three Wammie Awards, named as “best vocalist” by the Washington Music Association, and recognized by her peers in the business. In addition, she has been cited by the city of Washington, D.C. as one of the top-10 annual events in the city for her long-standing New Years Eve show. The Washington Post and other major news organizations also have applauded Peaches and her entertainment programs as fun, engaging public events which are inclusive for all ages and interests.

The orchestra has been featured at major museums and produced public events and dances for the historic Glen Echo Ballroom for 11 years in partnership with the U.S. National Park Service and several regional arts associations. Peaches also has worked closely with major charities to further their fundraising efforts, and also makes a continual effort to reach children and teens to raise their awareness of music and history. On a personal note, Sen. Connie Morella of Maryland once told Peaches she was a “business role model” for young women.

On Stage: Shows offers an intriguing mix of the world’s greatest swing dance music, dreamy romantic fare from the 1930s-40s, Latin goodies including rhumbas and tangos, “jump swing,” Hollywood’s greatest hits, hot-cha-cha stuff from the very late 1920s and a few humdingers of the 1950s.

From the Esther Williams CollectionOur tunes include “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “Choo-Choo Cha Boogie,” “Sentimental Journey,” “Manana,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “1-2-3- Kick” (the Conga line!), “Canadian Sunset” and “The Very Thought of You.” WE HAVE HUNDREDS oF TUNES AVAILABLE, from classic standards to outrageous novelties.

Sets are normally about 45 minutes long, followed by a short break., which features appropriate recorded music. Sample set lists are available. Sets can also be tailored for special events.

Those Themes: Peaches O’Dell & Her Orchestra excel is creating a specific ambience for a gala night. A few theme parties we have done: “Hurray for Hollywood,” “Speak Easy”, “Jitterbug Heaven.”

Those Extras: More performers are available through “Peaches O’Dell & Her Cavalcade of Stars.” Male or female singers, vintage dancers, exhibition swing dancers, friendly dance teachers, cocktail trios or solo piano players available. We also feature an unusual jazz trio led by one of the mid-Atlantic’s best fiddle players!
